TechTurn is happy to announce the release of Retirement Solution for Altiris Notification Server 6!  This is a free solution and can be downloaded here.

The Retirement Solution for Altiris is used to initiate, track, and manage the appropriate disposal process utilizing TechTurn’s retirement and disposal services.  Specific functionality includes the following:

l  Ability to initiate a retirement process on one or more Altiris managed devices through right click functionality.  Both regular disposals and return of leased assets can be initiated through this solution.

l  The status of the entire retirement “job” as well as individual asset statuses is automatically tracked in Altiris as the job transitions through its lifecycle.  This allows a customer to initiate the Retirement Process and then no further action is required.  The assets will automatically be set to Disposed or Returned to Lessor once the Retirement Job is completed.  Details on the statuses are outlined in further detail below.

l  Report on the Settlement Value of assets which have been disposed through this solution.  This provides the ability to understand the amount that has been recovered by appropriately disposing of these assets.

l  Launch a Settlement Report or a Certificate of Destruction through right click menu actions for a given job or asset.  These are reports that are hosted by TechTurn that serve as a proof of disposal and provide information about the disposal process.
